Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, as well as experience with heavy equipment and industrial machinery. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure optimal performance of our fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
  • Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and components effectively.
  • Weld and assemble parts as needed to ensure proper functionality of equipment.
  • Operate cranes and other heavy equipment safely during repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services performed, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in a dealership or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, HVAC systems, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including schematics and service manuals.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques and assembling mechanical parts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective customer service interactions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license is preferred; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are a plus.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
  • Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience 
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
