KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, lamb.
Weigh, wrap, and label cuts of meat for sale.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the work area.
Monitor product quality to USDA standards, and freshness, rotating stock as necessary.
Maintain knives, tools, and equipment in safe and proper working condition.
Understand and follow HACCP/ USDA safety and contractual regulations.
Assist with inventory management and learning online platforms we use to transfer product.
Dispose of waste and by-product in accordance with company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience as a butcher or in a meat cutting role for 2 years.
Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.
Understanding of food and safety practices and hygiene standards.
Ability to use meat processing equipment safely and effectively.
Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
Good communication and customer service skills.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work in refrigerated environments
Use of sharp tools and heavy equipment
Standing for extended periods
Will involve lifting heavy pieces of meat (up to 80 lbs.)
