Position Summary:
Are you a visionary leader with a knack for making a real impact? The Junkluggers of East Valley is on the lookout for an energetic, hands-on General Manager to drive our mission of exceptional customer service, eco-friendly practices, and community engagement. This is more than just a management role—it’s a dynamic position where you'll oversee day-to-day operations, nurture team growth, spark community relationships, and propel business development.
Key Responsibilities:

Operations Oversight
- Directly supervise the Operations and Field Supervisor, Lead Luggers, and crew teams, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee Business Development Associates, focusing on growth initiatives, networking, and partnerships to expand business reach.
- Float between multiple job sites to monitor progress, provide support, and ensure that teams are following SOPs as needed.
- Address any operational issues that arise during the day.
- Ensure Supervisor and team are following Loading and Unloading SOP taken to landfills and maximizing donatable and recycling items.
- Complete estimates utilizing the Estimate SOP and work to convert to a scheduled job.
- Checking Consumer Fusion reviews and Google reviews and address/respond as needed.
- Ensure that Supervisors are managing the teams and are on time for all scheduled jobs.
- Conduct regular hourly (or as needed) check-ins with Supervisors/teams during jobs to monitor progress and ensure that all work is being carried out to The Junkluggers’ standards.
- Complete 1 on 1 meetings, semi-annual and annual reviews, and PIPs as necessary.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Create, review, and update SOPs to ensure they are current and aligned with best practices.
- Train staff on new or revised SOPs and ensure consistent adherence across all teams.
- Monitor compliance with SOPs and take corrective actions as necessary to enforce company policies and procedures.

Fleet & Logistics Management
- Oversee the maintenance and readiness of the company's truck fleet, ensuring all vehicles are in top working condition and compliant with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with external vendors for any required vehicle repairs or maintenance.
- Ensure that all field teams conduct thorough truck inspections before and after jobs (Whip Around), adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
- Checking in on Whip Around to ensure all trucks passed inspection and if not, resolve it.

Business Development & Marketing
- Network actively within the community, building partnerships and representing The Junkluggers of East Valley at events and meetings.
- Provide materials and updates to social media platforms (Rallio) for content creation.
- Collaborate with Ferocious Media to understand marketing analytics, set strategy, and identify new opportunities.
- Develop guerrilla marketing strategies and track effectiveness, implementing grassroots tactics like truck parketing, lawn signs, door hangers and event sponsorships.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors and charities to enhance company reputation and foster business growth.
- Involvement in business relationship organizations (i.e. local BNI group)

Financial Management
- Monitor and manage financial performance (P&L), track expenses, and manage budgets to align with company objectives.
- Generate and analyze operational reports, including job completion rates, revenue goals, and technician productivity.
- Work closely with Core Finance to ensure accurate books.
- Timekeeping and Payroll
- Oversee the accurate tracking of employee hours, including timekeeping and attendance records.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all field staff.
- Address any discrepancies or issues related to timekeeping or payroll.

Inventory & Remix Collaboration
- Work closely with Remix Thrift Store to manage the flow of inventory, meeting KPIs and optimizing donation and recycling processing.
- Support marketing and promotional activities to increase foot traffic and sales.

Talent Acquisition
- Assist with hiring and onboarding new hires, establishing a positive and thorough introduction to company culture and expectations.
- Conduct or oversee employee training, including onboarding, safety, customer service, and sales training for supervisors and crews.

Customer Service & Leadership
- Lead by example in customer interactions, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Follow-up on customer concerns and large jobs, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
- Handle all UCBs (Urgent Call Back) appointments or delegate accordingly.
- Utilize proper phone and email etiquette when contacting customers.
- Plan and participate in team-building activities to strengthen company morale and support a positive work environment.

Scheduling and Coordination
- Creating, maintaining, understanding, and posting (as needed) the schedule nightly for the next day (including weekends and holidays).
- Assigning/Confirm crews assigned to jobs.
- Communicate schedule changes or updates to Supervisors/teams promptly and clearly.
- Check to ensure Supervisor confirmed job payments, confirm reason(s) listed for cancellations and follow-up with customers for potential reschedule.

Warehouse and Staff Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring all equipment and materials are stored properly.
- Implement and enforce cleanliness standards for the warehouse.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse and vehicles to ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards.

Travel & Continuing Education
- Attend industry conferences, meetings, and training events as necessary, potentially involving travel to enhance company knowledge and network expansion.

Additional Qualifications (Desired but Not Required):
- Ability to network in professional environments, with interests in activities like golfing or attending social functions.
- Strong customer service skills, combined with an ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a service-oriented industry.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with vehicle maintenance, scheduling software, and timekeeping systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze reports, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly address and resolve operational issues.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, particularly in enforcing SOPs, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring accurate payroll processing.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as the role may require hands-on involvement in warehouse and field operations.
- Networking Ability: Comfortable networking and building relationships with external partners and customers.
- Customer Service: Ability to deliver quality customer service and build positive customer relationships.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, including scheduling, field supervision, and customer interactions.
Work Environment:
This position operates in both office and field environments. The General Manager will spend time in the field working alongside the team, as well as in the office handling administrative and managerial tasks.
