Job Summary
The Instructor will be responsible for delivering structured, eight-hour courses on reading comprehension and speed improvement to adult learners at multiple military campus locations. The role includes curriculum development, classroom instruction, performance assessments, and reporting, emphasizing student-centered, results-driven adult education. 

Responsibilities 
  • Maintain prewritten course schedule and timelines.
  • Develop and deliver an innovative eight-hour reading improvement curriculum using recognized adult education methodologies. 
  • Conduct pre-and post-assessments to measure student comprehension and reading speed gains. 
  • Provide a comprehensive summary of student performance outcomes following each class. 
  • Administer end-of-course surveys to evaluate instructor performance and course effectiveness. 
  • Report substandard student performance, including academic and behavioral concerns, to the designated COR. 
  • Provide students access to follow-on learning resources and submit corresponding written instructions to the COR before course delivery. 
  • Coordinate course delivery across multiple campuses and ensure instructor continuity. 
  • Utilize a range of instructional strategies such as guided silent reading, pacing drills, comprehension checks, and the use of reading enhancement tools. 
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a teaching position desired.
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Adult Learning, or a related field. 
  • At least three (3) years of relevant instructional experience working with adult learners. 
  • Proven ability to design and implement instructional strategies focused on reading comprehension and speed. 
  • Experience in managing classroom-based assessments and documenting learning outcomes. 
  • Excellent communication skills and adaptability across different instructional environments. 
   Preferred Qualifications 
  • Experience instructing in military, federal, or higher education settings.  
  • Familiarity with instructional methods such as SQ3R, eye-span expansion, and use of comprehension assessment tools.
  • Experience teaching in both analog and digital learning environments. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple geographic locations with diverse learner groups.
