Oracle Business Intelligence Reporting Software Developer

 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with Business Depts. and ITS team members to build insightful Reports and Dashboards catering to the various business departments.
  • Work on Power BI, Oracle Transaction BI and other reporting tools to build reports and dashboards on Oracle Financial data, Oracle HCM data, Hexagon EAMS data.
  • Work on orchestration ETLs to extract data from various to ingest into a Central Data Warehouse. Develop detailed documentation for custom ETL data maps.
  • Assist in Data Governance effort, mainly in the areas of Data Cataloging and Data Quality Management.
  • Produce detailed technical design documents to match the solution design specifications.
  • Closely involved in all BI development efforts and provide quality assurance efforts for BI/Power BI configurations, platforms and gateways.
  • Participates and lead, when needed, BI Project meetings with the customer to gather requirements (functional and technical).
  • Provides quality reviews during development of BI solution designs through multiple project stages to ensure consistency.
  • Provides knowledge transfer to Metro ITS staff as required throughout contractual term.
  • Provide direction and advice ITS PM on the usage of predictive analytics using Data Sciences and Machine learning.
  • Assist ITS PM with scoping and planning major business-driven BI Project activities and engagements.
  • Providing functional and technical content for project deliverables.
  • Advising ITS Executive Management on BI emerging trends and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the design of data architectures.
  • Designs, configures and builds databases that are used in relation to data architectures.
  • Maps data elements and translates data so that it can be shared among various application systems.
  • Assists in the development of strategies for data archive/recovery, database implementation and data acquisition
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience Microsoft Power BI (Desktop & Service), Power Query, DAX scripting, Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
  • Minimum 5 years experience Oracle Transaction Business Intelligence, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Data Integrator/Informatica, SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Cloud ETL tools.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • Familiarity with Oracle EBusiness Suite data structure, tables, and reports is a plus.
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
  • Strong grasp of data extraction techniques, data transformation rules (cleansing, aggregation, standardization), and efficient data loading strategies.
  • Understanding of data quality frameworks, master data management (MDM) principles, and data lineage.
  • Knowledge of effective data visualization principles, dashboard design, and storytelling with data.
  • Knowledge of data sciences and machine learning is a plus.
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite of Products (Office, SharePoint, Visio).
  • Experience gathering requirements and architecting technical solutions.
  • Ability to make presentations to technical teams and business users.
