What We’re Looking For:
Are you a compassionate school-based Occupational Therapist ready to empower students and schools? Here's what you’ll need to join our team:
- Education: Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensure: Valid Colorado Occupational Therapist license issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
- Certification: Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and CPR certification.
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Your Role:
As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a critical role in helping students improve functional skills and achieve greater independence in their educational environments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate Needs: Conduct Occupational Therapy evaluations to identify the need for specialized services.
- Communicate Findings: Review evaluation results with parents and district personnel, providing clear and insightful recommendations.
- Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the ARD committee to design targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance student performance, participation, and access to education.
- Provide Therapy: Deliver therapy services or supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
- Monitor Progress: Collect data and maintain detailed, accurate records of student progress.
- Support Teams: Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and other discussions to advocate for students and improve special education programs.
