Girl Scouts of Gateway Council, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving girls across 35 counties in North Florida. We have openings for part-time Community Development Troop Leader positions in Duval County (Beaches & Southside locations), Escambia County (Downtown & Northcentral), and St. Johns County (St. Augustine). Staff must have availability Monday through Friday evenings, 2:00pm – 8:00pm and some weekends based on program needs. The purpose of this role is to develop and facilitate our Girl Scout programs within at-risk communities to mentor girls between the ages of 5 to 18.  Previous Girl Scout, teaching and/or working with at-risk communities and data entry experience is preferred.

Position Summary 
 
The Community Troop Program Specialist brings Girl Scouting directly to girls in after school settings through grant-funded programs that make participation accessible to all. This role is responsible for recruiting members, leading engaging Girl Scout sessions, supporting volunteers, and ensuring high-quality program delivery that aligns with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Recruit Girls to participate in Girl Scout Community Development Troops at assigned site locations to achieve program recruitment and engagement goals.
·         Maintain accurate records of girl participation and activities; upload required data and documentation by established deadlines; administer pre- and post surveys as directed.
·         Plan, prepare, and facilitate weekly or bi-weekly program sessions/troop meetings aligned with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and approved curriculum.
·         Ensure all program activities are delivered in compliance with Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints
·         Attend required trainings, meetings and events to support effective program delivery.
.        Lead the Girl Scout Cookie Program for Community Development Troops, including providing parent training and support, and serving as a liaison between troop families and the Product Program team. 
. Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with girls, school staff, site administrators, parents/guardians, mentors, and community partners. 
. Support assigned teacher troop leaders by providing onboarding, training, curriculum guidance, and assistance with program delivery and data collection. 
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
·         High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  (Education; Social Work; Family, Youth and Community Sciences; Public Health; or similar degrees)
.          This job may require weekday, weekend and or/ evening involvement. Local travel is required
·         Prior Girl Scout experience preferred.
·         Experience working with at-risk communities preferred.
·         Excellent organization and time management skills.
.         Strong commitment to helping and mentoring youth learn about the Pillars of Girl Scouts (STEM, Entrepreneurship, Outdoors and Life Skills)
.        Effectively manage the necessary record-keeping responsibilities to provide specific, accurate outcomes to our funders.
.        Flexibility to devote the necessary time to the job
.        Ability to get alone with people from all backgrounds
.        Enthusiastic, positive and outgoing personality
.        Ability to assume responsibility and take initiative
.        Valid Florida driver's license, valid auto insurance and insurable by the Council's auto policy insurance carrier and reliable transportation.

·         Physical ability to frequently stop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, lift, and move objects up to 20 pounds at shoulder height, and occasionally lift in excess of 20 pounds.
