Job Description:
ESO consultant is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a leading tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY. This critical care step-down unit provides specialized, evidence-based care to adult patients who require more advanced monitoring and treatment than typically offered on a general med-surg floor.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed progressive care setting.
- Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias, and related cardiac drips (non-titration).
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administer medications and blood products.
- Deliver respiratory support using nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management.
- Interpret telemetry data and respond to emergency situations using Rapid Response Team protocols.
- Manage central and peripheral lines, including care and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic (experience required).
- Practice appropriate infection control and isolation precautions.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.
Requirements:
- Active New York State RN License (must be in hand at time of submission).
- Minimum of 1-year recent experience in a Progressive Care or Stepdown Unit.
- Epic charting experience (required).
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NIHSS certification (preferred).
- Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response.
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Use of Rapid Response Teams.
- Central/Peripheral Line Management
- IV therapy, Blood Product Administration
- Respiratory care support
- Familiarity with isolation precautions and infection control protocols
