Job Description:
ESO Consultant is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Medical Surgical team at a leading tertiary care hospital . This 13-week assignment offers both day and night shift opportunities in a high-acuity, evidence-based care setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of an RN, taking on their own patient assignments while contributing to interdisciplinary care in a 528-bed tertiary facility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including vital sign monitoring, medication administration (where permitted), and basic bedside procedures.
- Manage telemetry equipment and monitor cardiac rhythms, with support from RNs and the care team.
- Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy; manage peripheral IV lines.
- Deliver respiratory support using nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway equipment.
- Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control protocols.
- Accurately document all care in the Epic electronic charting system.
- Participate in emergency response situations and collaborate with Rapid Response Teams when necessary.
- Collaborate with RNs and the broader care team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- Active New York State LPN license (required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience (within the last 2 years)
- Epic charting experience (required)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Must be able to take independent patient assignments under RN supervision
- Must be able to work every other weekend
