Job Description:
Primary job duties of a Staff Geologist include performing a range of tasks including fieldwork, data analysis, and report preparation.
Field and office tasks may include but are not limited to:
· A variety of soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water, and sediment sampling
· Oversight of drilling operations and assistance with all field activities
· Preparation of laboratory samples
· Assessment and remediation of contaminated sites, hydrogeological evaluation, site inspections, and asbestos and lead paint surveys
· Assistance with soil classification, laboratory testing, and geotechnical evaluation as needed.
· Report writing, assistance with cost estimates and proposals, and data reduction
· Evaluation of geological and environmental conditions
· Use of various software and communication with clients.
Travel to job sites and occasional overnight stays may be required.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Geology or related engineering/science degree
· 0-4 years of experience within the field
· Experience in geological and hydrogeological processes, groundwater and surface waters, water chemistry, environmental contaminants, sample collection, Phase I ESA and Phase II ESA’s, soil classification, and geotechnical concepts
· Excellent technical writing skill and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel,
· Preferred Geologist in Training (GIT) and willingness to pursue Professional Geologist (PG) license.
· Qualified candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
