Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented person to join our team! As a Retail/Bakery Assistant, you will greet customers and assist them with their needs to ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities will include working the register, packaging products, preparing espresso drinks, stocking display cases, processing inventory, answering the phone, returning calls, and maintaining the store’s appearance. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service, knowledge of cash register operation, and experience as a barista. Additional training in baking and chocolate will be provided to support the team as needed.

Responsibilities 
  • Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping
  • Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
  • Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
  • Collect payments by cash and credit card
  • Package products with care
  • Make hot beverages using an espresso machine
  • Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.
  • Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
  • Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.
  • Assist with classes as needed.
Qualifications
  • 18+ with a minimum education completed of a  High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English
  • Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
  • Willingness to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to quickly and accurately
  • Willingness to work during the holiday peak seasons and Saturdays. Most shifts are between the hours of  9:30 am and 6:30 pm with Sundays off.
This is a Part-time position offering approximately 24 hours per week. More hours are available during the holiday peak seasons.
Compensation: $17.50 per hour
