Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Medical Assistant to oversee our team in a fast-paced private practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of medical practices, ensuring that our staff provides exceptional patient care. This role requires a proactive approach to managing daily operations, fostering teamwork, and maintaining high standards of patient care. 

Responsibilities 
  • Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, as well as setting up medical equipment
  • Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
  • Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of healthcare staff to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
  • Assist Neurologist with patient exams, procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vitals, administering medications, and conducting basic neurological assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and inventory of medical supplies.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, prescriptions and treatment pans accurately in the EMR system.
  • Oversee daily office operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient scheduling.
  • Handle patient concerns and escalate issues to physician or practice manager when necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to the patient care team, ensuring adherence to protocols.
  • Conduct training sessions on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and patient care best practices.
  • Assist with medical administrative support tasks, including coding and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards within the facility.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback for professional development.
Qualifications
  • BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant desired
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
Experience
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or higher license required.
  • 3+ years of experience in neurology or a related specialty preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient care practices, and medical terminology.
  • Experience in medical administrative support functions including coding is desirable.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
