SUMMARY
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of major engineering projects in alignment with expectations.
- Guide design direction and risk mitigation strategies, and provides problem-solving expertise.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Drive excellence by reviewing and approving technical documents, and ensuring code and budget compliance.
- Communicate project status, risks, and solutions effectively to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and project management acumen within the team.
- Coordinate with procurement, quality, manufacturing, and external contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
- May involve extended periods at a computer or in meetings.
- Frequent travel, standing, and walking at substations and outdoor job sites in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Frequent and repetitive motions, such as reaching, gripping, stretching, twisting, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Adequate vision, hearing, and speech for communication and safety awareness.
- Extended exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, mud, and noise, for extended periods.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or a similar/related combination.
- Proven record of leading large-scale, cross-functional engineering projects in the power industry, specifically substations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Expertise in relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, IEEE, ISO).
- Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel for site visits, supplier meetings, or client engagements.
