We are seeking a highly energized and customer-focused Part-Time Estate Sale Associate to join our team. This role involves assisting with all aspects of estate sale preparation, execution, and breakdown. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Estate Sale Setup:
    • Unpacking, sorting, and organizing household items for sale.
    • Pricing items accurately and consistently.
    • Staging and displaying merchandise attractively to maximize sales potential.
    • Assisting with light cleaning and preparing the sale location.
    • Must be able to work in all levels of living conditions.
  • During Sale Operations:
    • Greeting customers warmly and providing excellent customer service.
    • Answering customer questions about items and pricing.
    • Assisting customers with item selection and carrying purchases.
    • Operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash/credit card transactions accurately.
    • Maintaining a tidy and organized sales floor.
    • Monitoring for theft and addressing any suspicious activity.
  • Post-Sale Breakdown:
    • Packing unsold items for donation or disposal.
    • Disassembling displays and preparing the location for clean-out.
    • Assisting with general clean-up of the sale premises.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assisting with inventory management as needed.
    • Participating in team meetings and training sessions.
    • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to various sale locations.
  • Availability to work weekends as needed, based on sale schedules.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with POS systems is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work hours will vary based on estate sale schedules, typically part-time with weekends being the busiest.
  • Work environments will vary from residential homes to other locations, requiring adaptability to different settings.
  • Requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
