Position Summary
As our Ophthalmic Scribe, you'll play a vital role in supporting our physicians by accurately documenting patient visits, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of our electronic health records. If you're someone who thrives in a clinical environment, learns quickly, and enjoys working closely with a medical team, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient visits in real time during ophthalmology and optometry appointments
- Navigate and update our electronic health records (EHR) system efficiently
- Print lab reports, treatment summaries, and assist with chart management
- Communicate professionally with doctors, patients, and staff
- Coordinate with providers to complete and submit medical records
- Assist with additional administrative or clinical support tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a medical or ophthalmic scribe preferred
- Strong computer, typing, and transcription skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and note-taking accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy clinical setting
- A desire to learn and grow within the medical field

Compensation: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
Our Practice
Semel Vision Care and Aesthetics
Located in El Segundo, CA, Semel Vision Care and Aesthetics offers an array of services in a relaxed atmosphere. Our skilled doctors and friendly staff provide the highest quality care using the most sophisticated technology available, and are dedicated to helping every patient enjoy the best possible vision.
We focus on screening, treating and preventing a wide range of common eye diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration. We also perform same-day optical dispensing and contact lens fitting. Dr. Semel performs surgical vision correction procedures, including LASIK and PRK to help patients achieve clear vision reducing the need for glasses or contacts. These procedures are performed with little to no downtime.
In addition to our comprehensive eye care services, we also offer patients a wide range of aesthetic treatments to help them restore and maintain healthy, beautiful skin. Our in-house aesthetician is highly skilled and experienced in helping each individual patient achieve his or her cosmetic goals. Treatments are safe, effective and personalized for each patient to ensure long-lasting results.
