Job Summary:
As the Sushi Restaurant Manager / Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintaining high service standards, managing staff, and ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience. You will work closely with the culinary team to uphold our commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation in Japanese cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all restaurant operations including front and back of house
- Manage and schedule staff (servers, kitchen, sushi chefs, hosts)
- Ensure excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally
- Monitor food quality and presentation in collaboration with head chef
- Manage inventory, supply orders, and vendor relationships
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train, motivate, and evaluate team performance
- Implement cost control and budget management strategies
- Drive sales and customer engagement through promotions and events
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a restaurant manager (sushi/Japanese cuisine experience preferred)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Japanese food and dining culture a plus
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic business software

Compensation: $69,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
