Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to provide expert nutrition care and lifestyle coaching at the McChord Medical Clinic, supporting active-duty military personnel and their families. The RDN will work independently while collaborating with physicians, healthcare staff, and wellness coordinators to lead nutrition education classes, develop action plans, support preventive health programs, and improve overall nutritional wellness in the military community.
General Duties:
- Clinical Privileges: Provide services as granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Credentialing Committee.
- Contractual Obligations: Deliver services and administrative duties per the basic contract and PWS requirements.
Specific Duties:
- Nutritional Counseling & Education: Provide one-on-one and group health education on weight management, diabetes prevention, sports nutrition, and lifestyle changes.
- Clinic Coordination: Consult with Primary Care Managers (PCMs), offer feedback, and support ongoing patient care.
- Class Facilitation: Lead programs like Health Improvement Program (HIP), Diabetes Management Classes, H2H (Healthcare to Health), etc.
- Outreach & Events: Organize and facilitate community outreach and wellness events.
- Program Development: Assist in the evaluation and revision of clinical nutritional pathways and wellness initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Leadership Briefings: Annually assess the base’s nutritional environment and brief leadership on findings and improvements.
- Team Integration: Actively participate in quality improvement meetings and other professional staff functions
Qualifications:
- Degree: Bachelor’s or graduate degree in dietetics or related field.
- Education: Must graduate from an ACEND-accredited didactic program in dietetics.
Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – face-to-face course only.
- Board Eligible – Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
Experience:
- 3 years in the last 5 years in health promotion, sports nutrition, and group education.
- Experience with both youth and adults, including event planning and lifestyle coaching.
Licensure/Registration:
- Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Unrestricted state license if required by Task Order.
Other Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship
- Successful background investigation and Tier 1 security clearance
- Ability to use EMR systems and Microsoft applications
Skills and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of sports nutrition, obesity prevention, and chronic disease management
- Ability to teach and motivate groups and individuals
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in documentation and EMR usage
- Ability to work independently and be a proactive team member

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties
Physical Requirements:
- Mostly ambulatory, outpatient clinic work
- Must be fit-tested for N95 and comply with physical and immunization standards
Work Environment:
- Military outpatient clinic setting
- Collaborative team of providers, wellness staff, and medical support
Immunization Requirement:
- Must meet MTF standards (TB testing, immunizations, physical exam)
- Costs for immunizations and physicals are contractor responsibility
Security Requirement:
- Must complete Tier 1 background investigation and obtain CAC (Common Access Card)
Compensation: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
