Job Summary
Encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our licensed Type 1 facility. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination along with supervising their daily activities.

Responsibilities
- Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises.
- Administering lesson plans in accordance with teaching standards established by the official sources.
- Provide basic care and care-giving activities.
- Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children.
- Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities.
- Develop and encourage age appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts such as communication, manners, sharing, etc.
- Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children.
- Maintain a safe environment by monitoring children for health, behavioral and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents. Collaborate with other colleagues Record keeping requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting with occasional standing and walking for 8-10 hour shifts.
- Frequent use of fine motor skills to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and ability to reach with hands and arms on a regular basis. Intermittently required to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Consistently required to talk and/or hear.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Complete 15 hours of professional development annually and implement what you have learned back into the classroom
- Update TB skin test every two years
- Complete a professional development plan with the director annually
- Complete a staff evaluation with the director annually
- Complete CPR/First Aid certification every two years (if required by director)
- Complete the 1.5 hour Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Training in the first year of hire
- Complete 6 hours of Orientation in the first 90 days of hire
- Follow and implement all center policies and procedures on a daily basis
Qualifications required for employment:
- Proof of high school diploma/GED/Commonwealth Child Care Credential (CCCC)
- Complete the National Background Check Program for Kentucky and any out of state background checks
- Provide a TB skin test or health professional statement
Compensation: $10.00 per hour
