BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an Application Database Administrator -Junior, for both MD area as well as PA area. These positions are full-time, remote role with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required in PA and MD. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6:00am hours and 6:00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours (9am to 3pm) being covered.
As an Application Database Junior, you will be responsible for the Designing, monitoring, maintaining, and application performance tune production databases, while ensuring high levels of data availability.
Key Responsibilities: This individual is responsible for performing the following tasks:
A. The Application Database Administrator's role is to design, monitor, maintain, and application performance tune
production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability.
B. Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s),
and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s)
requirements.
C. Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to, and from business processes, functions, and
operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
D. Assists in developing and designing database and warehouse applications across multiple platforms and
computing environments.
E. Assists in the development of an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a
flexible but secure environment.
F. Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure databases
' integrity and availability and accompanying software.
Basic Qualifications:
- This position requires an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related scientific or technical discipline. Technical training may substitute at a equivalent rate of the required experience.
Specialized Experience:
- The proposed candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure); and Linux and Windows Server environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The proposed candidate must have at least three (3) years of experience relevant experience.
