BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking Application Development Expert for both MD area as well as PA area.  These positions are full-time, remote role with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required in PA and MD. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6:00am hours and 6:00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours (9am to 3pm) being covered.  

As an Application Development Expert , you will provide design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. The position shall use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. This individual will be viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. 


Key Responsibilities
:   His/her responsibilities include performing the following tasks: 
     A.      Developing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features
     B.      Providing expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business 
     C.      Determining specifications, then plans, designs, and developing the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes (either individually or in concert with a project team) 
     D.     Assisting in the most difficult support problems 
     E.      Developing programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse 
     F.      Understanding and consistently applying the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies 
     G.     Researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business 
     H.     Acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent
 

Basic Qualifications

  •  This position requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience. (Note: A Master’s degree is preferred.) 
  •  The proposed candidate must have at least seven (7) years of IT and business/industry work experience. 

Specialized Experience:   

  •  The proposed candidate must have at least three (3) years as a technical expert in an IT organization. This individual coaches and mentors the Junior Technical Staff. The position will also provide technical input into the most complex and high impact IT decisions. This individual will be accountable for the most complex enterprise-wide applications and issues, translating highly complex concepts for peers and customers. The position must have in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approach in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.
