About the Role:
We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Trucking Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our fleet operations. The ideal candidate will ensure our vehicles run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations while also supporting our drivers and aligning operations with company objectives. This is a key leadership role requiring strategic planning, strong communication, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management
- Schedule and dispatch vehicles to meet daily transportation needs
- Optimize route planning for efficient asset utilization
- Conduct regular inspections and oversee maintenance to ensure vehicle roadworthiness
- Assign repair and maintenance tasks to appropriate personnel
- Monitor real-time vehicle tracking and performance
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle performance, inspections, and servicing
- Identify and resolve fleet-related bottlenecks
- Recommend cost-effective shipping and maintenance solutions
Driver Supervision and Support
- Monitor and improve driver behaviors and performance
- Mentor, coach, and reward drivers based on KPIs
- Assist with driver recruitment, onboarding, discipline, and termination
- Create and manage driving schedules
- Track attendance, health status, and compliance with Hours of Service regulations
- Maintain consistent communication with drivers to provide updates and support
- Train drivers on safety standards, risk management, and operational protocols
Reporting and Compliance
- Report fleet performance, expenses, and operational issues to upper management
- Prepare budgets and oversee major vehicle purchases
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with transport laws and company policies
- Keep all vehicle, driver, and operational records up to date and organized
- Coordinate with warehouses for seamless shipment handling and distribution
- Ensure proper filing of shipping documents and order tracking through logistics software
Strategic Planning & Operations
- Set and track fleet-level targets and goals
- Plan and supervise end-to-end shipments (receiving to delivery)
- Monitor and control transportation costs
- Stay current with safety and transportation regulations and legislation
- Organize training sessions for staff on vehicle handling and safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Trucking Manager, Fleet Supervisor, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, logistics software, and DOT regulations
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple drivers, vehicles, and routes efficiently
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments
- Proficiency in MS Office and fleet management systems
- High school diploma or GED required; relevant degree or certifications preferred

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
