Our History

Founded in 1976 by Gene Grotto, Polar Air began with a mission to bring reliable heating and cooling to Savannah-area homes and businesses. Gene’s commitment to quality service laid the foundation for decades of trust and excellence.

In the early 1980s, we helped shape the Georgetown subdivision, providing HVAC systems to one of Savannah’s fastest-growing neighborhoods. Following Gene’s passing in 1997, his son Bill Grotto took the reins—expanding Polar Air’s reach into commercial HVAC projects, including hotels and warehouses across Pooler and beyond.

Today, the tradition continues with the third generation, Daniel and William Grotto, leading our team with the same passion, integrity, and customer-first mindset. From legacy neighborhoods to new builds, we’re proud to carry on a family legacy of comfort and care.
