Excelsior Schools seeks a dedicated and compassionate Social Studies Teacher to oversee and guide middle school and/or high school students as they complete their core and elective academic coursework online. This unique position focuses on student support, mentorship, and academic oversight, enabling students to thrive in a flexible learning environment tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor student progress and engagement in online academic courses, including both core and elective subjects.
  
  
• Provide individualized support, encouragement, and academic coaching to students, helping them stay on track with assignments and assessments.
  
  
• Facilitate communication between students and online instructors, assisting in addressing questions or concerns related to course material.
  
  
• Ensure accountability for attendance, participation, and timely completion of coursework.
  
  
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student progress and areas requiring additional support.
  
  
• Assist students in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and strategies for academic success within an online learning model.
  
  
• Coordinate and supervise designated study sessions or academic check-ins, fostering a supportive and focused environment.
  
  
• Collaborate with school staff to uphold the standards and mission of Excelsior Schools and support student well-being.
  
  
• Address challenges or obstacles encountered by students in online learning, providing guidance or connecting them with additional resources.
  
  
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and communication.
  
  

Position Details

• Full-time position with a focus on Social Studies instruction.
  
  
• No lesson planning required.
  
  
• Dedicated to providing instructional support and oversight, not direct instruction.
  
  
• Works primarily with students enrolled in online academic programs.
  
  
• Location: Palm Beach County area.
  
  
• Salary: $60,000.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field (Required).
