Position Overview
We are seeking qualified Home-Based Caseworkers to serve children and families referred by the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). Caseworkers provide strength-based services directly in clients’ homes and communities, ensuring safety, stability, and empowerment.
This is a 1099 subcontractor role — not a W-2 position — and ideal for experienced, compassionate professionals who value autonomy, strong support, and meaningful work.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide home-based casework, including safety planning, family preservation, reunification services, and visitation facilitation
- Collaborate with families, DCS, schools, and service providers
- Attend and document family team meetings, court hearings, and school conferences as needed
- Complete reports and documentation accurately and on time using designated systems
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and professionalism
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in social work, psychology, or a related human services field
- At least 1 year of experience in child welfare, case management, or family services preferred
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
- Ability to pass criminal, BMV background checks, including FBI fingerprinting, CPS, and state background
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent time management and documentation skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently

- Previous DCS provider experience
- Familiarity with Indiana’s child welfare system
