Job Description:
The Landscape Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all plant materials, hardscape products, irrigation supplies, and related construction items required for landscape projects. This role ensures the right materials are purchased at the right price, delivered on schedule, and meet company quality standards. The Landscape Purchaser plays a critical role in vendor management, cost control, and supporting field operations with timely procurement
Essential Functions:
• Lead, Manage, Accountability
• Procure Materials & Supplies – Source and purchase plants, hardscape, irrigation, and other landscape materials to meet project requirements.
• Manage Vendor Relationships – Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and availability.
• Coordinate Deliveries & Scheduling – Align material deliveries with project timelines, minimizing delays and shortages.
• Ensure Quality & Compliance – Verify that purchased materials meet project specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Issue purchase orders for all materials required on awarded projects.
• Secure competitive bids and negotiate pricing with vendors, nurseries, and suppliers.
• Monitor lead times and manage delivery schedules to align with project timelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with nurseries, material yards, and specialty suppliers.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on pricing, quality, reliability, and service.
• Identify new sources and products to increase value and availability.
• Track and compare purchase costs against project budgets and estimates.
• Work with project managers and superintendents to minimize waste and avoid material shortages.
• Manage substitutions, value engineering options, and cost-savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimators to confirm material takeoffs and clarify scope.
• Coordinate with operations and field teams to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain clear documentation in Aspire (or your ERP/CRM system) for all orders, pricing, and invoices.
• Handle warranty claims and defective materials with suppliers. Stay current on industry trends, seasonal availability, and material regulations.
• Monitor and control material expenses against project estimates; identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
• 3–5 years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (preferably in landscape construction, construction, or related industries).
• Strong knowledge of plant materials, hardscape, and irrigation supplies.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor-management skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail in scheduling and documentation.
• Proficiency in construction management software (Aspire, Pipedrive, or similar), Excel, and digital purchasing systems.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Compensation: $65,000.00 per year
