Position Details
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00–$18 per hour, based on position and experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday (hours scheduled between 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
No evening or weekend shifts.
Your Impact: Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that foster curiosity, confidence, and early academic skills.
- Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Implement positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning strategies.
Classroom & Team Leadership

Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with high-quality standards (e.g., NAEYC). - Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers and Aides, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines.
- Ensure all activities and classroom practices comply with Virginia state licensing standards.
Family & School Collaboration

Maintain open, effective communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences. - Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to contribute to a positive, team-centered school culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Experience working with children (ages 6 weeks – 5 years).
- Friendly, patient, dependable team player.
- Strong understanding of child development and positive guidance principles.

Teacher Position: High school diploma or GED.
Preferred (Especially for Lead Teacher)
- Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center.
- Lead Teacher Position: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required or in progress) strongly preferred. A CDA is also a valued credential.
- Familiarity with curriculum models such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori.
- Background in inclusive education, sensory integration, or differentiated instruction.
- Prior experience mentoring or guiding other teaching staff.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to lead and manage a classroom.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles.
- Effective communication and a team-oriented mindset.
