About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant with strong media/advertising industry experience and hands-on SAP proficiency. The ideal candidate understands the unique revenue cycles, billing workflows, client reconciliation processes, and cost tracking structures common in media agencies or advertising networks.
You will support monthly close, revenue and expense accounting, media billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting while partnering closely with client teams, media operations, finance leadership, and shared services.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, expense amortizations, reconciliations, and financial schedules.

Media Billing & Revenue Accounting:
- Support client billing cycles, media costs allocations, and pass-through expenses.
- Review/validate media plans and insertion orders for financial accuracy.
- Reconcile media spend, production costs, and vendor invoices.

SAP Accounting:
- Process transactions, run reports, maintain GL accuracy.
- Support SAP FI/CO workflows and help troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare P&L summaries, variance analysis, and management reporting for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to company policies, GAAP, SOX controls (if applicable), and internal audit requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with media planners, client services, AP/AR, and project management teams on financial accuracy and timely reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to streamline billing, close, and SAP workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the media/advertising industry (Agencies, media buying, digital advertising, creative agencies, broadcast, OOH, etc.).
- Hands-on SAP experience (SAP FI/CO required).
- Strong understanding of media billing cycles, pass-through costs, media spend reconciliation, and client-level financials.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end financial processes.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling).
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with media planning/buying tools (MediaOcean, Strata, Prisma, FreeWheel, Operative, etc.).
- Experience with revenue recognition in project-based or retainer-based agency models.
- CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-client environment.
This is a remote position.
Compensation: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
