We are looking for an CVICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works full-time, nights, to provide direct care for critically ill cardiovascular patients, including post-operative and heart failure patients. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, writing medical orders, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The role requires experience in critical care, often specifically in heart failure management, and includes patient and family education and accurate electronic health record documentation

- Patient care: Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), including managing conditions like heart failure and post-operative recovery from surgeries such as CABG and aortic repairs.
- Clinical tasks: Perform patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and write medical orders according to established protocols.
- Daily rounds: Perform daily rounds on assigned patients to monitor their health status.
- Collaboration: Work with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Patient and family education: Educate patients and their families about treatment options, medical processes, and health promotion.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care in the electronic health record.
Requirements
- Education: A Master's (MSN) or Doctoral degree is often required, with an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) certification being a common requirement.
- Experience: Generally, 2-3 years of critical care (ICU) experience as a Registered Nurse or APP is necessary.
- Licensure: Must be licensed and able to practice according to the specific state's Nurse Practice Act or medical board regulations.
Compensation: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour
