Assistant Teacher (Floater) – Daycare / Preschool
Location: The Learning Experience – Ledgewood, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Pay: $17 per hour

The Learning Experience – Ledgewood is seeking a warm, reliable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to support our daycare and preschool classrooms. Our team helps children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on activities in a caring, supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom.

  • Assist with implementing TLE’s play-based curriculum, including early language, social-emotional learning, and motor-skill development.

  • Help guide positive behavior and encourage peer interaction.

  • Participate in daily routines: meals/snacks, diapering/toileting, transitions, and rest time.

  • Keep the classroom clean, organized, and engaging.

  • Communicate positively with families and work collaboratively with the teaching team.

What You Bring

  • 6+ months of experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting (1 year preferred).

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus (or willingness to pursue).

  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).

  • CPR/First Aid preferred.

  • Must meet New Jersey childcare licensing requirements.
