JOB SUMMARY
Must be detail-oriented! Responsible for organizing the inspection department to assist in meeting deadlines and making final determinations if parts are within all acceptable tolerances. Utilize technical drawings and accustomed to various other inspection hand tool equipment (micrometers, microscopes, comparators, calipers) to provide feedback to toolmakers and other coworkers. Ensure adherence to tight tolerances and specifications while optimizing production efficiency.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Organize priorities in the inspection department and ensure all tolerances have been checked and documented on inspection reports. Use hand tools to measure and check part sizes.
- Interpret prints and renderings in order to understand the specifications for the part. Understanding GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) is essential in performing this function.
- Communicate and collaborate with shop toolmakers to resolve quality and inspection issues. Prior experience as a toolmaker would be beneficial in carrying out this function.
- Polish, finish, and assemble parts per print specifications.
- Work with the Quality Manager and Shop Supervisor in helping to create an atmosphere and culture that places quality at the forefront.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and cost savings in design, fabrication, and maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
