Day Camp Counselor
Full Time • Mechanicsville
We are hiring group counselors and activity counselors for our day camp program, Camp Blue Sky!
Schedule
- Seasonal position from June 1-August 21, flexible to work with college or teacher schedules
- 8 hour straight shift Monday-Friday with mini breaks throughout the day
Responsibilities
- Driving for offsite activities such as swimming and field trips
- Leading your group of campers (no more than 15 campers) in their daily activities such as Art, Archery, STEM, Cooking, and Team Building
- Interacting with campers in a positive and meaningful way
- Actively participating in play and activities, not just watching the children
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a camp or childcare setting
- Strong childcare skills and knowledge of childhood development
- Ability to manage a large group of children and handle behaviors in a kind and positive manner
- Ability to work with other counselors to give campers an exceptional camp experience every day.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid and MAT (training will be provided to those who do not currently have their certification)
- Ideal candidate will meet our driving requirements: over 21, driving for 5+ years, clean driving record
Compensation: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
