Business Development & Referral Specialist (Part-Time)

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Business Development & Referral Specialist to support the growth of our private-pay home care services throughout South Hillsborough County. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building trust, developing long-term referral partnerships, and representing a care-focused agency within the community.
This is not a high-pressure sales role. Success is built through consistency, professionalism, and strong relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain referral relationships with assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, case managers, and community organizations
- Conduct in-person and phone outreach within the assigned territory
- Follow up with referral partners and warm leads
- Educate referral sources on agency services, care approach, and pricing
- Coordinate with intake and scheduling teams to support client onboarding
- Track outreach activity and referral outcomes
- Represent the agency professionally at all times
Performance Expectations
- No referral quota during the first 30 days (training and relationship-building period)
- Gradual and measurable referral growth within the first 90 days
- Focus on long-term relationship development rather than immediate volume
Compensation & Incentives
This position includes a commission and retention bonus program for new private-pay client referrals, paid in accordance with company policy. Full commission details will be provided during the interview and offer stage.
Employment Status
This is a W-2 part-time position under Florida at-will employment law.

- Experience in home care, healthcare marketing, or referrals is a plus
Commission & Incentive Structure

$750 commission for each new private-pay client after 30 consecutive days of active, paid service

$500 retention bonus after 90 consecutive days of continuous active, paid service
- One (1) commission and one (1) retention bonus per household or client, regardless of number of caregivers or hours authorized
- Private-Pay Requirement
Commissions apply only to private-pay clients.
Clients funded through Medicaid, Medicare, insurance, VA benefits, long-term care insurance, or any third-party payer are excluded unless expressly approved in writing by the Employer.
Payment Terms
- Commissions and bonuses are calculated and paid monthly
- Clients must remain active, paid, and in good standing during the qualifying period
- No commission or bonus is paid for clients who cancel, become inactive, or fail to pay prior to meeting eligibility requirements
- Employer reserves the right to verify referral attribution and eligibility prior to payment
Separation of Employment
Commissions and bonuses are payable only while actively employed.
No commissions or bonuses will be paid after termination unless all eligibility requirements and retention periods were fully satisfied prior to the termination date. Unearned commissions are forfeited upon separation.
8. Confidentiality
Employee agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all client information, referral sources, pricing, contracts, and business operations during and after employment, in accordance with Florida law.
Non-Circumvention
Employee agrees not to solicit, divert, or attempt to redirect the Employer’s clients or referral sources for personal gain during or after employment, to the extent permitted by Florida law. This provision is intended to protect legitimate business interests and does not restrict lawful employment.
