Position Summary
JBF Express is seeking a professional and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to support our growing cross-border operations between the United States and Canada. This role involves transporting freight efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
In addition to dry freight operations, this position includes seasonal bulk tanker deliveries, requiring drivers to operate tanker equipment safely and in full compliance with all applicable regulations. Drivers at JBF Express are trusted professionals who communicate clearly, take pride in their equipment, and represent the company positively with customers and border officials.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for LTL, FTL, linehaul, OTR, and seasonal bulk tanker routes, including regular cross-border travel into Canada.
- Maintain a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements and keep all credentials in good standing.
- Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, ELD, HOS, Hazmat, tanker, and Canadian border regulations.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding ETAs, delays, mechanical issues, and route changes.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; report defects or safety concerns immediately.
- Ensure proper load securement and safe handling of freight.
- Accurately log Hours of Service using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Handle Hazmat and tanker shipments in full compliance with federal, state, and international regulations.
- Conduct yourself professionally with customers, warehouse personnel, and border officials at all times.
- Perform basic vehicle checks (fluids, tires, lights, lights, tires, fluids, etc.) and report maintenance needs promptly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (required).
- Must be eligible to legally cross the Canadian border.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Working knowledge of DOT safety regulations, tanker operations, and freight securement.
- Comfortable using ELD systems and mobile communication tools.
- Ability to work independently while following company procedures.
- Ability to lift and handle freight as required during pickups and deliveries.
Performance Expectations
- Maintain safe, compliant driving practices at all times.
- Accurate and timely ELD and HOS entries.
- Reliable communication with dispatch and customers.
- On-time pickup and delivery performance.
- Professional conduct representing JBF Express at customer sites and border crossings.
- Participation in DOT drug and alcohol testing programs as required.
- Immediate reporting of safety, equipment, or border-related issues.
Work Environment
This position involves operating Class A commercial vehicles—including tanker equipment—under varying weather conditions. Drivers may handle freight as needed and regularly interact with dispatch, customers, and international border officials while supporting regional, OTR, cross-border, and seasonal bulk tanker operations.
Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
