Job Summary: The intern will work closely with other members of the team to support the pre-construction phase, perform bid, proposal and budget preparation, assist with value engineering for ongoing projects and support subcontractor/vendor relations.
Responsibilities: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, and skills required of personnel so classified.
· Review plans; prepare quantity take-offs on projects.
· Review drawings and work with team to select needed disciplines and subcontractors.
· Solicit subcontractor & obtain bids for all needed subcontractor, venders, suppliers needed for the project.
· Assist review and analyze bids for completion including project specifications, price, material quality, and related items. Discusses and resolves any questions with subcontractor prior to submission of estimate.
· Attend meetings with team and / or clients to discuss estimates, answering any questions and resolving any issues regarding the estimates.
· Provides guidance and review change order pricing, award reviews and de-scoping.
· Sets up Estimate Folders, including Master Estimate, Scope Sheet Files, Qualification File
· Manages Subcontractor Database
· Assist in assembling Proposals
· Gathers Subcontractor Prequalification Statements
· Distributes Estimating Plan Distribution
· Assist in preparing General Condition Pricing Information
· Update Estimating plan rooms and biding links
· Send out addendums and other bidding requirements during bidding
· Assist in takeoffs and leveling of subcontractors
· Generate estimating and purchasing documents such as approval letters, scope sheets, contracts purchase orders
· Assist field personal with: submittals, shop drawings and other documents
· Assist estimators as needed
· Review drawings and disciplines to determine scope of work for all disciplines
· Assist Superintendents with coordinating subs
· Assist as needed to help coordinate on site
· Schedule subs for on site work as needed
Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
