Pharmacy Technician I

We are seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician I to support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations within a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to medication safety and operational excellence. You will work under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists and pharmacy leadership, contributing to medication preparation, sterile compounding, distribution, and delivery while promoting a positive experience for patients, staff, and hospital guests.

Responsibilities
- Prepare medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist according to physician orders
- Fill, package, label, scan, and distribute medications accurately
- Weigh, measure, mix, and compound medications using proper equipment and technique
- Load, refill, and maintain automated dispensing machines
- Assist with inventory management, including CII safe inventory
- Prepare IV admixtures and sterile products using aseptic technique
- Reconstitute injectable medications and fill syringes for pharmacist verification
- Clean and maintain sterile compounding equipment, including laminar airflow hoods
- Support outpatient pharmacy operations for trained staff, including prescription selection and register operation
- Utilize Epic and pharmacy technology systems for patient lookup, label printing, compounding, repackaging, and tracking
- Transport medications throughout the facility, including medication carts, IV runs, and unit dose runs
- Answer phones and relay messages as needed
- Reorder medications and supplies, rotate stock, and check expiration dates
- Serve as receptionist at the RX window and distribute medications to appropriate departments and patients
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment - Follow all departmental and hospital safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification
- Passed an examination approved by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy (PTCB/CPhT)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Ability to handle cash transactions related to pharmacy sales
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital pharmacy experience

Start times as early as 2:30 PM or as late as 3:00 PM
Shifts include: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

(1) Full-Time Rotating Position
- Majority of shifts are day shift hours, varying by day
- Day shifts may include: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; 6:30 AM–3:00 PM; 7:30 AM–4:00 PM; 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; 11:30 AM–8:00 PM
- Rotators may occasionally cover evening shifts: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Hourly pay range: $15.87–$20.63
Compensation: $15.87 - $20.63 per hour
