Shop Laborer

We are looking for a Shop Laborer to support our fabrication team. This role is essential to keeping the shop running smoothly and helping fitters and welders work efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize kits of parts and materials for fitters according to job drawings and work orders
- Operate a forklift to move steel, parts, and finished assemblies safely and efficiently
- Use shop equipment including band saws and ironworkers to cut, punch, and process material as required
- Load and unload material from trucks and staging areas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist fitters, welders, and supervisors as needed to support production flow
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Perform basic inspections of materials and report defects or issues to supervision
Requirements:
- Good physical condition (lifting, standing, moving materials)
- Comfortable working in a dusty, industrial environment
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Team player with a good attitude
Assets (but not required):
- Experience in a steel shop or industrial environment
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
