Job Summary

PSERS is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist to support its accessibility initiative by testing, remediating, and creating accessible digital content. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with WCAG and Section 508 standards across documents and web content using both manual and automated testing methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and remediate digital documents (PDFs, forms, web content)

  • Perform manual and automated accessibility testing

  • Conduct keyboard-only and screen reader testing

  • Use assistive technologies (JAWS, VoiceOver, ZoomText, etc.)

  • Create and document accessibility test plans and remediation reports

  • Track and document testing results and compliance status

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams

Required Experience

  • 2+ years in digital accessibility testing, remediation, and content creation

  • Strong knowledge of WCAG and Revised Section 508 Standards

  • Experience with assistive technologies and automated testing tools

  • Understanding of usability principles and user-centered design

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Certified Document Remediation Specialist

  • 2-year college degree or equivalent technical training

Work Authorization & Compliance

  • Government equipment must not be used outside the United States

  • Compliance with PSERS security and interview verification requirements is mandatory
