The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventive dental care and patient education while supporting a smooth, efficient schedule in a fast-paced practice. Responsibilities
- Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing as appropriate
- Take and review dental radiographs
- Conduct periodontal charting, gather health histories, and update patient records
- Educate patients (kids, teens, and adults) on oral hygiene, home care, and preventive strategies
- Apply fluoride and sealants
- Assist with sterilization and operatory turnover following infection control protocols
- Communicate findings clearly to the doctor and collaborate on patient care plans
- Help maintain an efficient schedule while delivering a great patient experience
Qualifications
- Current Dental Hygienist license in NY
- CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent chairside manner and communication skills
- Comfortable working with both pediatric and adult patients
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety/infection control
- Experience with Open Dental preferred (not required)
Compensation: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
