Pay can be salary (non-exempt) for paycheck stability throughout the year, or hourly for maximizing your paycheck. Salary ranges from $50,000-55,000, Hourly ranges from $26-30/hr.

More than just a Job: As a Pool and Spa Service and Repair Technician:
- You’ll help create backyard memories for local families and commercial partners, by delivering sparkling, clean, and chemically safe swimming pools.
- You’ll market our industry-leading Poolwerx supplies to your clients
- You’ll also think on your feet to resolve any challenges you may encounter
- You'll work independently while building strong relationships with your clients.
Pool and Spa Service and Repair Technician Responsibilities:
- Provide a reliable, efficient, and professional service to clients.
- Troubleshoot and repair pool and spa equipment such as pumps, heaters, sanitizers, filters, and other standard pool and spa equipment.
- Perform all needed repairs and/or installations professionally and safely, in line with manufacturer recommendations and all applicable codes.
- Confirm work done on site solves the problem and diagnose any new issues discovered or problems with work done to limit callbacks.
- Load vehicle with standard and out of ordinary stock. Ensure all stock removed from the applicable storage is accurately recorded. Maintain stock counts on your vehicle and ensure required tools to perform services are stocked and in good condition.
- Record all materials and products used on site through our CRM system, currently Skimmer, for invoicing purposes.
- Identify poolside opportunities for upselling/sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and current technical information and skills. Regular training is provided by Poolwerx and our product partner to ensure your skills are up to date.
- Maintain high presentation standards for your vehicle, uniforms, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle environment, including vehicle presentation adhering to OSHA policies & procedures.
- Attend all training sessions, staff meetings and activities as requested to remain up to date on all innovations in the business so that the service provided is always “best practice” and in accordance with relevant standards.
- Maintain positive, honest, open, and effective communications, relationships, and morale at all levels in the business.
- Perform other duties as required by your manager.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Sales and marketing awareness and skills.
- Basic level calculation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to self review work to ensure proper completion and how to improve future similar jobs.
- Excellent organizational skills including time management.
- Phone application skills. Familiarity with Skimmer is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills ability, including taking vague descriptions to determine troubleshooting and desired outcomes
- Plumbing of 0.5” to 3” PVC, flex PVC, and rubber hose.
- Electrical understanding of 120v, 240v, Amps/Watts/Volts, and multimeter use.
- Simple gas pressure testing with a manometer.
- Understanding of water movement throughout a system and how equipment interacts with water flow.
- Proficient understanding of pool/spa chemistry and how it impacts equipment or leads to problems.
- Ability to work unexpected hours that may shift day of, within typical working hours/days.
What You’ll Need:
- A valid driver's license.
- Be 21 or older for motor vehicle insurance purposes.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred
- A minimum of two years experience in a similar position
Typical Working Hours:
- We target 40 hours per week on average
- In-season hours may go beyond 40 hours beginning in late April through September. Hours may reach 50 in a week.
- Off-season hours may slow to 30 hours on non-holiday weeks in the winter.
- Typical start time at a job site is 9am, but you may be working by 8am for supplies or travel.
- Typical end time is by 5pm, but you may work after if unplanned delays arise throughout the day.
Common Work Orders:
- Spa diagnosing related to lack of heat, error codes, or leaks
- Pool diagnosis related to weird noises, poor or no heat, low flow, etc.
- Openings and closings.
- Equipment swaps, both as like for like swaps, and brand change swaps.
- Large jobs such as auto-cover installs and recover, acid washes, equipment pad installs.
