We’re looking for a skilled Directional Drill Locator to join our fiber construction crews in Albuquerque. This is a critical field role — the locator is the one who keeps the bore on track, protects utilities, and ensures every drill shot is done safely and accurately.
What You’ll Do
- Use professional locating equipment to track the drill head underground
- Communicate real‑time depth, pitch, and direction to the drill operator
- Keep the bore within alignment and depth tolerances
- Prevent utility strikes by maintaining safe clearances
- Walk the bore path and identify hazards before the drill reaches them
- Confirm entry and exit points match the approved bore plan
- Mark the bore path and maintain constant visual control
- Assist with potholing and exposing utilities when needed
- Help set up pits and maintain safe, compliant work zones
- Support the drill operator and ground crew throughout the job
What You Bring
- Experience locating for directional drilling
