Aquatics Manager / Parks & Recreation Marketing Assistant – Full Time
This dual-role position supports the City of Waverly’s Aquatic Center operations during the summer season and recreation programming and marketing during the off-season.
April–September (Aquatics Season):
- Oversee daily Aquatic Center operations, staff supervision, scheduling, and trainings
- Ensure patron safety, enforce rules, monitor water chemistry, and maintain facility standards
- Manage cash reconciliation, reports, incident documentation, and coordination with inspections/maintenance
- Assist with hiring, evaluating, and leading seasonal lifeguard staff
October–April (Off-Season Recreation & Marketing):
- Assist with planning and coordinating recreation programs and community events
- Support department marketing, including social media, promotions, and outreach
- Help with general program administration and public communication
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required; pool or recreation experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Certified Pool Operator (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and outdoor conditions
Pay is hourly per City pay scale with hours scheduled based on seasonal operations and programs.
Compensation: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
