Position Overview
Georgia Green Energy Services (GGES) is seeking a highly experienced Temporary General Foreman – Civil & Site Construction to oversee subcontracted concrete, grading, trenching, demolition, and site restoration work for a public infrastructure project located along the Atlanta BeltLine.
This individual will serve as GGES’ on-site authority for all civil operations, ensuring subcontractors execute work in strict accordance with construction drawings, ADA requirements, City of Atlanta standards, ACI specifications, and project schedule milestones.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong field presence, technical competence in civil construction, and professional communication with clients, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
Project Scope Includes
- Concrete demolition and replacement
- 3000 PSI structural concrete pads
- ADA-compliant accessible routes and turning radii
- Trenching and conduit rough-in coordination
- Compaction verification (90% grade minimum)
- Installation of foundations for kiosk, bollards, cabinets, and EV charger
- Coordination with Georgia Power
- Traffic control and public safety compliance
- Site restoration to pre-existing or better condition
Key Responsibilities
Field Oversight & Quality Control
- Supervise and direct all civil subcontractors (concrete, grading, demo, trenching).
- Verify all work complies with project drawings and specifications.
- Ensure concrete meets strength, reinforcement, cover, and finish standards.
- Confirm proper compaction, base preparation, and slab tolerances.
- Monitor ADA compliance including slopes, clearances, and turning radii.
- Ensure grounding and trenching installations comply with NEC and utility requirements.
- Protect and secure open excavations per City and OSHA standards.
Schedule & Coordination
- Coordinate demolition, rough-in, and concrete placement sequencing.
- Plan around weather risk and rainy season impacts.
- Ensure milestone completion before major public events (April 4 festival).
- Maintain clean and safe job site daily.
- Coordinate concurrent electrical and civil operations.
Documentation & Client Interface
- Serve as GGES field representative with:
- eX2 (field POC)
- ABI Smart City
- City inspectors
- Utility representatives
- Document completed work in provided GIS platforms (EZRI).
- Upload progress updates to SharePoint.
- Identify and communicate field conflicts immediately.
- Manage field changes within contractual rate structure to avoid unnecessary change orders.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA and City of Atlanta safety requirements.
- Maintain traffic control in public right-of-way.
- Ensure fencing and site protection are maintained.
- Maintain positive site drainage during construction.
- Oversee erosion and sediment control compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years experience supervising civil/site construction projects
- Strong background in:
- Concrete removal and placement
- ADA-compliant public infrastructure
- Site grading and compaction
- Trenching and underground utility coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Familiarity with ACI, ADA, MUTCD, and NEC standards
- Experience coordinating with public agencies and inspectors
- Proven subcontractor management skills
- Strong scheduling and sequencing experience
- Ability to manage fast-paced urban public projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on City of Atlanta projects
- Experience with Georgia Power coordination
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience managing work in active public spaces (parks, trails, retail areas)
- Experience on Smart City, EV infrastructure, or utility projects
