We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for generating new business, maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth by promoting plumbing services to residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate has strong sales experience, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of plumbing systems and services. The Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through technical sales of residential and commercial plumbing services.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and territory prospecting
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Conduct on-site visits to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate plumbing solutions
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close sales
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions
- Provide excellent follow-up and customer service to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
- Conduct on-site inspections of plumbing systems including:
- Drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems
- Water supply lines, Sewer systems
- Hydro-jetting needs, Pipe descaling and trenchless solutions
- Diagnose plumbing issues and determine scope of work
- Interpret plumbing schematics, blueprints, and site plans when applicable
- Ensure proposed solutions meet local plumbing codes and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with operations teams to verify labor, equipment, and material requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses
- Develop professional proposals outlining scope, timeline, pricing, and service agreements
- Present technical recommendations clearly to clients, translating complex plumbing concepts into understandable terms
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms while maintaining company profit margins
- Maintain ongoing relationships with commercial and residential clients
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities
- Develop maintenance agreements and recurring service contracts
- Monitor project execution to ensure alignment with customer expectations
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and activity tracking in CRM
- Provide weekly pipeline and revenue reports to management
- Stay informed about competitor services, pricing strategies, and industry trends
- High school diploma or GED required; Plumbing Management, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of outside sales experience (plumbing, construction, or home services strongly preferred)
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and long-term client relationships
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems, sewer and drain services, hydro-jetting, leak detection, and pipe repair methods
- Strong understanding of job costing and gross margin principles
- Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of plumbing codes and safety standards
- Familiarity with trenchless pipe repair, camera inspections, and high-pressure water jetting equipment
- Understanding of materials such as PVC, copper, PEX, cast iron, and galvanized piping
- Ability to assess equipment requirements including jetting units, cable machines, and excavation tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Consultative, solution-based sales approach
- Strong negotiation and closing abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High level of organization and time management
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, sewer and drain services, hydro-jetting, or commercial plumbing
- Experience in business-to-business sales
- Ability to read basic construction drawings or service estimates
- Ability to travel within assigned territory
- Ability to walk job sites and inspect confined or mechanical spaces when needed
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
