Position Summary
The Estimator role is critical for the success of a restoration company, as they are responsible for creating estimates in Xactimate utilizing the program guidelines and IICRC standards. They must be detail-oriented and understand the commercial and insurance restoration industry. Having a basic construction background which includes basic understanding of building materials, flooring, and other materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke and other property damage causes will assist in being successful in this position.
Xactimate experience is an essential requirement of this job. If you do not have experience with this software, you will not be considered for this position. Additionally, we require candidates to demonstrate knowledge of the software as a part of the candidate screening process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Project Manager/ Crew Chief/ Lead Tech on the scope of job
- Writes mitigation and reconstruction estimates using Xactimate and other estimating software
- Communicates conversations and key information on the job using the notes feature in the required software
- Estimates using carrier audit standards and manages the estimate based on feedback from the client and customer
- Communicates with project manager/lead tech to ensure all required documentation is complete (photos, notes, and documents signed)
- Determine labor and equipment costs
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
- Communicate w/ insurance companies and adjusters via phone and email in a timely manner, and act as a liaison
- Manage all estimate documents and assess project risks
- Review quotes and estimates with the construction project team
- Addresses estimate exceptions in a timely manner

We are an experienced and successful Disaster Restoration company that provides first-class service to businesses and homeowners throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island after a fire, water, or mold disaster. We are a fast-paced office seeking an additional Estimator to join our team. This role will create estimates for the clients and insurance companies based on guidelines of program requirements, industry, and/or company guidelines. Software used is Xactimate, Symbility, or Clerk of the Works (Time and Material estimating), MICA, Dash, DocuSign, Matterport, and office products. A candidate should possess excellent customer service etiquette, flexibility, and attention to detail and accuracy. A candidate should have a problem-solving mentality with a pleasant disposition. Reliability is a must.

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
