 Northwoods Wholesale Outlet is seeking a results-driven Human Resources Director to oversee all HR functions, support company growth, and foster a positive workplace culture. This role works closely with leadership and employees to ensure policies, procedures, and processes are fair, compliant, and effective.

Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead and manage all human resources functions across the company
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and standards
  • Partner with executive and store leadership on workforce planning
  • Provide guidance to leaders on employee-related decisions
  • Support company growth, organizational changes, and staffing needs
Recruiting & Hiring

  • Oversee recruiting and hiring for all positions
  • Develop hiring processes and standards
  • Support managers with interviews, offers, and onboarding
  • Ensure hiring practices are fair, consistent, and compliant
  • Support seasonal and high-volume hiring needs
Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues
  • Support managers with performance management and discipline
  • Investigate and resolve employee concerns and complaints
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies
  • Promote a positive and respectful work environment
Training & Development

  • Oversee onboarding and new-hire training programs
  • Support leadership and manager training
  • Identify training needs and development opportunities
  • Support succession planning and employee growth
  • Assist with performance review processes
Labor Compliance & Policies

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Maintain employee handbooks and HR policies
  • Advise leadership on wage, hour, and employment law matters
  • Oversee employee documentation and recordkeeping
  • Support audits and compliance reviews
Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee compensation structures and pay practices
  • Manage employee benefits programs
  • Work with vendors and brokers on benefits administration
  • Support open enrollment and employee communication
  • Ensure competitive and compliant pay practices
Payroll & Workforce Systems

  • Partner with payroll and finance to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Oversee HR systems and employee data accuracy
  • Support workforce management system adoption and usage
  • Ensure accurate employee records and reporting

Safety & Risk Support

  • Partner with operations on workplace safety initiatives
  • Support injury reporting, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work programs
  • Help reduce employee risk and claims through training and policy enforcement
Reporting & Communication

  • Provide HR reporting and insights to leadership
  • Track turnover, staffing levels, and employee trends
  • Communicate HR policies and updates clearly to employees and managers
