DESCRIPTION:
As an Senior Estimator you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist with organizing and managing the bid process in conjunction with the Estimating Manager
- Review and analyze bid documents to develop project labor, materials, and equipment requirements and costs
- Travel to attend pre-bid meetings and site visits while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and consultants
- Consult with suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to determine costs
- Assist with the technical proposals and presentations
- Assist with the preparation of post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost control
- Actively participate in production tracking and post-job analysis
- Assist with maintaining date base of historical estimates and project information records
REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is required
- 5 + years experience in heavy civil, mining, construction or a related area with good working knowledge of general engineering applications and construction practices
- Previous experience with field engineering, estimating, project scheduling, and technical writing required
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products, civil estimating software (preferably HCSS), and scheduling software (preferably Primavera P6).
- Effective written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks and manage those tasks concurrently within firm timelines
- Ability to read and understand construction documents including contracts, specifications, and drawings
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills
- Ability to function effectively within a team atmosphere
- Ability to travel overnight as needed on an infrequent basis
- Ability and willingness to visit sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environment
Compensation: $110,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
