St. Martin’s Lutheran School is seeking a passionate, mission-aligned middle school English Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. About the Role:
St. Martin’s Lutheran School is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and academically strong Middle School English Teacher to lead students in grades 5–8 toward excellence in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking.

This educator will help students grow as thoughtful communicators, analytical readers, and confident writers while nurturing character, responsibility, and a love of learning within a Christ-centered school community.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach middle school English courses for assigned grade levels (5–8). 
  • Plan engaging lessons, units, and assessments aligned to standards and school priorities. 
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback on student writing and classwork. 
  • Maintain accurate grades, progress monitoring, and communication with families. 
  • Differentiate instruction to support a range of learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels and content areas. 
  • Participate fully in school meetings, professional development, and continuous improvement cycles. 
  • Contribute positively to school culture, student life, and community events.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field; teaching certification preferred.
  • Experience teaching middle school English or related subjects.
  • Strong understanding of language arts curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a dynamic and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom.
  • Passion for teaching and a desire to inspire students to achieve their best.

Founded in 1963, St. Martin’s Lutheran School of Annapolis is a Christ-centered community serving students from PreK-3 through 8th grade. Located at the corner of Forest Drive and Spa Road, our school is home to 150 students with an average class size of 13. We prioritize personalized learning, high expectations, and the development of strong moral character.

St. Martin’s is in a season of purposeful renewal. Compensation: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
