Assisting Hands Home Care Merrillville is actively hiring Caregivers to provide non-medical in-home care to seniors and adults.
We are hiring in Crown Point, Merrillville, Gary, Dyer, Schererville, Munster, Valparaiso, Hobart, Chesterton, and surrounding communities.

Caregiver Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transfers
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Help with meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Perform laundry, bed changes, and home organization
- Provide medication reminders (no administration)
- Assist with walking, wheelchair, and mobility support
- Observe and report changes in client condition
- Use mobile app for clock-in, clock-out, and documentation
- Follow care plans, safety, and infection control procedures
Caregiver Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year caregiving experience preferred (Caregiver, CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP, or similar role)
- CNA or HHA certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Ability to pass National background check
- CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be dependable, professional, and compassionate
- Comfortable using a smartphone
