Patterson’s Water & Plumbing is looking for an energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated Business Development Representative to help grow our plumbing and water treatment divisions through referral-based marketing and community outreach.

This is not a desk job. You'll spend your time in the field meeting with real estate professionals, home inspectors, irrigation companies, property managers, builders, networking groups, and other referral partners. Your primary goal is to create relationships that lead to new business opportunities and schedule educational Lunch & Learn presentations for our team.

If you're comfortable walking into an office, introducing yourself with confidence, and speaking in front of groups, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do

  •  Visit real estate offices, irrigation companies, home inspectors, property managers, networking groups, and other referral sources throughout Central New Jersey. 
  •  Build relationships that generate long-term referral partnerships. 
  •  Schedule and coordinate Lunch & Learn presentations for our team. 
  •  Represent Patterson's Water & Plumbing professionally at community and networking events. 
  •  Follow up consistently with referral partners through in-person visits, phone calls, emails, and handwritten notes. 
  •  Maintain detailed records of all marketing activities and contacts. 
  •  Track referral sources and identify which marketing efforts generate the best results. 
  •  Work closely with leadership to develop new business opportunities and outreach strategies. 
  •  Assist with promotional events, trade shows, chamber events, and educational seminars as needed. 
Success in This Role

A successful candidate will:

  •  Consistently book 2 or more Lunch & Learn presentations per week
  •  Create new referral relationships every month 
  •  Maintain accurate activity tracking and reporting 
  •  Represent the company professionally and confidently 
  •  Be proactive rather than waiting for opportunities to come to them 
Qualifications

Required

  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  •  Comfortable speaking in front of groups 
  •  Strong relationship-building abilities 
  •  Organized and detail-oriented 
  •  Self-starter with a positive attitude 
  •  Reliable transportation and valid driver's license 
  •  Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule 
  •  Basic computer skills and ability to document activities 
Preferred

  •  Experience in sales, marketing, business development, networking, or customer service 
  •  Experience working with real estate professionals, contractors, or home service companies 
  •  Familiarity with CRM software or customer management systems
