About the Opportunity
KARE CENTER in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support providers and patients across our urgent care and primary care services, helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling to fit your availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document chief complaints and medical histories in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct point-of-care testing as directed.
- Administer injections and immunizations per provider orders and within scope of practice.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and stocking of supplies.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
- Provide patient education and instructions under provider supervision.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in a clinical, urgent care, or primary care setting preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
